The Frontier

Also known as the New Frontier and the Last Fronier, it was the 2nd hotel to open on the strip. Opened 1942 and closed 2007. Steve Wynn still owns the land.



The Sands

Opened in 1952 and closed in 1966. The Sands’ Copa Room is where many of the most famous entertainers performed, like Frank SInatra and the Rat Pack.

The Venetian Hotel is now on the grounds of the Sands.


The Riviera

Opened in 1955 and closed in 2015 to make way for Las Vegas Global Business District.



The Sahara

Opened in 1952 and became the SLS Hotel in 2011.

Don RIckles and Louis Prima were mainstays here in the Lounge.


The Dunes

Opened i 1955 and demolished in 1993 to make way for the Bellagio at the corner of the Strip and Tropicana.

The Hacienda

Open in 1956 and closed in 1996. Now Mandalay Bay is built on those grounds.



The Aladdin

Opened in 1962 as the Tally Ho, and in 1966 purchased by Milton Prell and became the Aladdin. In 2007 became the Planet Hollywood resort, which it remains today.

Elvis and Priscilla were married here.
